Horses as Partners

Horses as Partners is a Horsemanship program, as well as an Equine Interaction Experiences program.  We are located in Southwest Missouri, about 45 minutes southwest of Springfield, MO and about 2 1/2  hours southwest of St. Louis, MO.​

The program began as a dream in Kristin's mind when she started her Natural Horsemanship journey under the guidance and mentorship of the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program in 2007.  The Horsemanship  journey began in northern Nevada in 1996 when she bought her first Arabian mare who would become the foundation mare.  In 1998 that mare, Hi C Sunshine gave birth to Kristin's first colt - a tall, grey colt named Hi C Julian.  He would become Kristin's partner, teacher and heart horse.  That partnership led to the idea of building her own program, putting people and horses together to build confidence, leadership and connection.  With a BA in Psychology and Sociology, certification as a Life Coach and a desire to learn more, Kristin enrolled in the Sheez Like the Wind program and was recently awarded certification as an Equine Interaction Experiences Practitioner.  She also has her eye on completing the steps to become certified by the Certification Board of Equine Interaction Practitioners within the next year.  Kristin also works as a Foster Care Case Manager.

That brings us to today!  While she doesn't have her own facility, she makes the program work with what she has available.  Sadly, she lost her horse partner, Julian in March of 2022 - he was 24 years old. Then, in October of 2022, the herd lost another member, when Rain, Kristin's husband Ray's horse passed away.  Kristin brought home a new horse that she will be working with and developing.
